Please welcome our lead counter for the 2023 season, Aaron Reb! We're excited to return to Turkey Point for our third season collecting valuable data about fall migration. Turkey Point is the southernmost point of the Elk Neck Peninsula in Cecil County, Maryland, and a natural gathering point for southbound migrating birds. The Turkey Point Bird Count will document fall bird migration here from August 1st through November 30th.
If you would like to support this effort, please donate via the link above. You can monitor updates via Trektellen and eBird as well as via the MBP special projects blog and on social media (MBP on Facebook and Instagram).

◆ Aaron Reb
Having grown up in central Delaware, Aaron has spent his entire life birding across the Delmarva peninsula and beyond. At age 12 Aaron joined the Youth Maryland Ornithological Society which further fueled his passion for conservation and the study of birds. Ever since his first experience with morning flight in Cape May, Aaron has been fascinated by this phenomenon and began tracking morning flight over his own yard. In addition to birds, Aaron enjoys learning all he can about the natural world and is particularly keen on fireflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Aaron is excited to be leading the Turkey Point morning flight count in its third year running and is eager to see what discoveries this season has in store.
