Duckweed Firetail (Telebasis byersi) is found through much of the southeastern coastal plain in wetlands with abundant duckweed. Maryland appears to be near the northern terminus of its range. It is recorded from Caroline County and from Worcester County (Richard Orr's Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and the District of Columbia). As this species is only known from a handful of sites, it is ranked as S1 (highly state rare) in Maryland.
There are 10 records in the project database.
