Status

Schrankia macula was indeed split into multiple species, and all of them were placed into the genus Hypenopsis. All the Mid-Atlantic records are expected to be the newly described, cryptic species H. calusa. We've been seeing this undescribed species for years but didn't know it was undescribed. (T. Reichard, pers. comm.)
