Description

Identification of Pussytoes may seem challenging but most can be identified from photographs whenever they are in flower. It is important to observe the veins and the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves. For most species, you will also want a clear, up-close photo of the flowering head. A hand lens and millimeter ruler will help you observe the flowers and measure the length of the involucres and corollas.

Use of media featured on Maryland Biodiversity Project is only permitted with express permission of the photographer.
