Description

Rumex species are very common throughout Maryland in disturbed habitats - infrequently mowed fields, roadsides and along rivers and streams. To identify Rumex species, you generally need to see the shape and distribution of the basal and stem (cauline) leaves. You may also need to see the characteristics of the fruits and flower.

Use of media featured on Maryland Biodiversity Project is only permitted with express permission of the photographer.
