Status

There are native and non-native species of Forget-me-nots in Maryland. Some of the native species are uncommon.

Description

These are generally small plants with pale blue flowers (sometimes white). To identify these species it is necessary to make detailed notes of the floral characteristics: The hairs on the calyx, the size of the petals, the distribution of the flowers in the inflorescence. It can be difficult to identify Myosotis species from photographs but a very clear, close up photo of the flowers will help.

Use of media featured on Maryland Biodiversity Project is only permitted with express permission of the photographer.
