Status
Laphria index and L. ithypyga are essentially identical in appearance, aside from terminal appendages. Males are fairly easily distinguished with clear photos, but females are not separable in the field. Prefers more mesic habitats than ithypyga, and generally more widespread and common (Baker & Fischer 1975).
