Status

This undescribed species is thought to belong to the S. diffluella species complex. The caterpillar forms digitate, blotch mines in the leaves of fleabane (Eiseman, 2021: 1582). Mines should be looked for on its host plants in Maryland.

Relationships

Larval host plants include Annual Fleabane and possibly Prairie Fleabane (Eiseman, 2021).
