Microscopic features must be confirmed to identify this species. Reports without microscopic details are speculative. Several species of Phragmidium are known from Maryland.

Description

Fruiting body: Distorts young stems with orange pustules; leaves with yellow spots above, orange pustules below. In late summer the orange pustules turn black; leaves may fall early (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Relationships

On stems and leaves of wild and domestic roses (Rosa species) (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
