The subfamily Blastobasinae is currently under consideration for classification and very difficult to identify to species level (Marcia Morris/BugGuide).

Description

"Present knowledge of Blastobasinae does not permit species-level sight identification ... the genus Pigritia has labial palpi so reduced as to appear absent" (Terry Harrison/BugGuide 1/20/2011).
