Description
Cap: White/pale cream under white/silvery-frosted canescence when wet; convex to depressed in age; smooth; margin inrolled; flesh watery/whitish. Gills: White to pale buff; short; decurrent, ending at top of stalk; close. Stalk: Like cap, upper half canescent when young; hollow in age; extensive white mycelium at base. "Canescence" is a whitish dusting or bloom (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Where To Find
Scattered groups/clusters on leaf litter under hardwoods, occasionally on needles under conifers (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
