Description
Cap: Crimson to purple-red often darkest in center; convex (flat in age, often with depressed center and slightly striate margin), Gills: Pale to deep yellow. Stalk: White, dry to slightly sticky (when wet) with slightly swollen base (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Where To Find
Groups on ground; associated with pines (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
