Mid-Atlantic Beakrush (Rhynchospora mesoatlantica) is rare in Maryland and was proposed as a globally rare (G1) species at the time of publication (Eberly & Naczi (2023) PhytoKeys 236: 65=81). It is known from a handful of extant populations in Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. The Maryland populations were previously assigned to Rhynchospora harperi, a more southern species.
