Caloptilia quercinigrella[1][2] or Povolnya quercinigrella is a moth of the family Gracillariidae.[3][4][5][6] It is widely distributed in eastern North America in the United States (south to Florida and Texas)[3][4] and Canada (Ontario).[3]
The wingspan is about 10 mm. In North Carolina, adults are active in March–April.[6] The larvae feed on Quercus species, including Quercus nigra.[3][6] They mine the leaves of their host plant.[6]
