Seasonality Snapshot
Status
Seawrack, also commonly called Eelgrass, occurs mainly in stretches of the Chesapeake Bay that are high in salinity, that is, in the lower Bay. In these high-salinity areas, Seawrack and Widgeon-grass are the co-dominant plant species. The name "Eelgrass" is also, confusingly, applied to an underwater plant,Vallisneria americana, that is found mainly in freshwater reaches of the Bay.
Where To Find
Found mainly in the lower, high-salinity, parts of the Chesapeake Bay.
