Found solitary or in small groups on ground in coniferous and mixed forests.
Description
Fruiting body: Orange-yellow; stout, white, bulbous base with multiple branches and closely packed tips. According to G. Lincoff, species in this genus do not bruise brown when handled (National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms, c. 1981). (J. Solem, pers. comm.)

Ramaria aurea is a coral mushroom in the family Gomphaceae. It is found in North America and Europe. It is similar to R. flava; both species are edible.[1]
