Cicindelidia rufiventris is active as an adult in summer into autumn, and is generally found in upland regions away from the immediate vicinity of water. It can be found in a variety of habitats, including powerlines, trails, dirt roads, open patches with small rocks or gravel, dry clay slopes, and other similar habitats with sparse vegetation. The species tends to be somewhat local, but can be fairly common within the proper habitat (Knisley & Schultz, 1997; B. Coulter, pers. obs.). The species appears to be largely absent from the Eastern Shore region.
