Found solitary or in groups on ground in coniferous or mixed forests.
Description
Cap: White to gray-brown, dry, smooth, becoming patchy with concentric fibril rings; margin light, inrolled, usually with bits of partial veil; flesh white, thick. Gills: White, decurrent, close. Stalk: White above double ring, brownishj-yellow below; tapers down, usually mostly buried; ring and veil remnants usually prominent. Usually, a short, squat fruiting body (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
