Found in dense clusters on well-decayed logs or stumps.

Description

Fruiting body: Up to 1/8" (3 mm); some shade of yellow; cottony mass in a shallow cup on short, thin, dark stalk. Compare to similar H. clavata, which has a more elongated cup.
