Found solitary, scattered, or in groups on the ground in mixed woods.
Description
Cap: purple/rosy red or somewhat washed out; convex (flat, centrally depressed in age); margin striate; viscid when wet. Gills: pale ochre. Stalk: white (stain yellow/ochre when bruised) (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
