Found in singles or small groups on decaying logs and stumps.

Description

Fruiting body: Lavender shading to brownish, hygrophanous, smooth, firmly gelatinous. Gills: Close; color varies with age and light, but usually some aspect of pinkish-lavender. Stalk: Varying shades of lavender / brown, white mycelium at base. Fruiting bodies often appear more red-brown than lavender. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
