This species used to be split into multiple species which have been combined. Kuo lists eight synonyms (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Description
Cap: Variable in color; covered with dark brown fibrils; dry; fan to shell-shaped. Gills: Mostly yellow to orange; radiate from point of attachment; close to crowded. Stalk: None (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Where To Find
Scattered/clusters on debarked hardwood or hardwood litter (rarely conifer) (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
