Description

This is one of the smallest known slime mold species and constitutes the type for the order Echinosteliales. The sporangial size ranges from 300-500 microns in height and the white (or rarely pinkish) peridium is quite evanescent disappearing as the spores ripen. (L. Biechele, pers. comm.)
