Status
The genus Batrachospermum has gone through major revisions and species previously assigned to the genus have been moved to other genera. Although many older records may be assigned to Batrachospermum sp., it may be more accurate now (post 2020) to treat these as Batrachospermaceae rather than Batrachospermum in the strict sense.
