Tiger Spiketail (Cordulegaster erronea) is an interesting, large dragonfly of tiny forest streams with sand or silt deposits, often in cool ravines. Males patrol the breeding habitat persistently. This species tends to become active as an adult later in the year than other members of its genus. (Paulson, 2011). Tiger Spiketail is distributed widely in Maryland, but is not common, and is ranked as an S3.
