Status:

Midland Clubtail (Gomphurus fraternus) is a common riverine species in much of the midwest, and western Pennsylvania, but in Maryland, it is known only from the Potomac drainage. There is also a population on the Delmarva Peninsula, on the Nanticoke River in Delaware, but thus far, the species has not been found on the lower stretches within Maryland (Richard Orr's Odonata of Maryland and Washington D.C.).
