Green Treefrog (Hyla cinerea) is a large, bright green treefrog with a pale lateral stripe. In Maryland, the Green Treefrog is found throughout the Coastal Plain and Fall Line, and sporadically in the Piedmont. This frog is often conspicuously loud, and gregarious during the summer, and its rapidly-repeated, ringing 'queenk' calls (up to 75 times/minute) are distinctive. Green Treefrogs will breed in ponds or lakes, swampy areas, edges of marshes, or other well-vegetated bodies of water. Maryland is near the northern terminus of the species' range (Conant & Collins, 1998).
There are 383 records in the project database.
