This species and other Leptogaster are small, slender robber flies with long abdomens and long legs. The details of coloration of the legs are often important for specific identification. This species has the hind femora black on the distal end, bisected by a yellow band. The hind tibiae are white basally and dark apically (Norm Lavers' robber fly site).
