Description

A similar species to Tipula abdominalis but distinguished by the overall dark brown femur and tibia (no pale sub apical bandit femur or base of tibia as in abdominalis), wing stigma dark brown, wing patterning details, and abdominal tergite 1 evenly dark brown. Tipula abdominalis is also a late summer to fall emerging species. (Jon Gelhaus/BugGuide)
