Cap: May be covered with thick slimy layer or very little; color variable, mostly yellows/browns; convex to flat; white to yellowish flesh; veil remnants may hang from margin. Pores: Yellow, initially covered with thin white veil; no color change when bruised. Stalk: Mostly white with yellow/brown areas; glandular dots above ring; white ring becomes brownish-purple on edge and underside (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
On ground under various species of pines, especially two-needle (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
