Status:

Found single or in groups on leaf litter or woody debris in hardwood forests.

Description:

Cap: Red-orange, dry, a bit velvety; conical to almost flat; faint marginal striations. Gills: White with slightly pinkish edges; close. Stalk: Upper portion light, lower 2/3 may be darker, often red-brown; dry; basal portion has large glob of white mycelium and white hairs. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
