Status

Found scattered or in groups on decaying hardwood mulch or debris.

Description

Cap: Dark reddish-brown fading to tan in age; covered with silky white fibrils when young; radially grooved/wrinkled; convex to nearly flat (in age), sometimes with a broad umbo; margin may have veil remnants. Gills: Rangefrom dull-white to purplish-brown with edges minutely fringed in age, some with white edges. Stalk: White above to pale brown below, coated with silky fibrils; copious amount of white mycelium at base (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
