Rare but increasingly regular vagrant from the western U.S., usually in late fall and winter. Early arrivals in August are generally adult males. Any hummingbird visiting feeders in late fall or winter is more likely to be a western vagrant than a Ruby-throated. Please consider leaving up your feeders and please report any late season hummingbirds!
