Status

Found in dense clusters on well-decayed logs or woody debris. Other Tubifera species, some perhaps recently described, might be found at the Tubifera species page.

Description

Fruiting body: bright, rose-red when young, to purple-brown at maturity. The tips of the fruiting bodies (sporothecae) are rounded to acute at the tip and round in apical view. Subspecies acutissima has sporothecal tips that are apiculate at maturity.
