Delicate Thuidium Moss in Allegany Co., Maryland (2/24/2017). Leaf of Thuidium delicatulum (40X) showing strongly papillose leaf surface (a genus characteristic). Note also the costa peters out well before the leaf tip (acumen), which graduates into a point (it's abruptly acuminate in close related T. recognitum) (R. Borchelt).
