Status:

Parasitic. Resemble tiny black matchsticks in groups or rows primarily on caps of Violet Tooth (Trichaptum biforme).

Description:

Maximum size of 2.5 mm.

Relationships:

Relies on Violet Tooth (Trichaptum biforme). Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) also cited as host (Woehrell & Light [Mushrooms of the Georgia Piedmont and Southern Appalachians 2017:166]). Often present when green algae exists on host. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
