Description:

Placynthiella oligotropha can be found in the same habitat as Placynthiella uliginosa and the two species often grow together. Placynthiella oligotropha has larger, pale brown granules when wet.

Where to find:

Placynthiella forms mats in dry, sandy habitats. It can be found on the Coastal Plain of Maryland on inland dunes.
