Status:

Stereum lobatum is part of the Stereum ostrea complex. Recent studies have suggested that Stereum ostrea may not occur in North America (e.g., Delong-Duhon & Bagley, 2020, unpublished).

Description:

Generally similar to Stereum lobatum. Unlike S. lobatum, the body of S. subtomentosum stains bright yellow when bruised.
