Sparkling Jewelwing Calopteryx dimidiata Burmeister, 1839S2 (State rare)  

Status:

Rare in Maryland (S2) with local populations in Caroline, Queen Anne's, and Wicomico Counties. Records from Prince George's County and Washington, D.C. are historical. A coastal plain species inhabiting sandy creeks and rivers (Paulson, 2011).
