Oriental Shrimp Palaemon macrodactylus M. J. Rathbun, 1902Non-native

Status:

"In 2007 the invasions lab here at SERC caught a single, Palaemon macrodactylus (Oriental Shrimp) at the SERC dock. This species is native to the northwest Pacific, but has been introduced to the western US, New England, Europe and South America. To date, I think there are only three Chesapeake records: the one at SERC, one in the James River, Virginia and one in the York River, Virginia." (R. Aguilar/SERC, pers. comm.) Please report any other know Chesapeake Bay records!
