Status:

Flag-tailed Spinyleg (Dromogomphus spoliatus) is a large, showy species which occurs primarily to the west or the south of this region, often at lakes or ponds, or rivers with slow current. There is a single record of this species from the Catoctin Mts. of Frederick Co. (Richard Orr's The Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and the District of Columbia) from 2007, thought to be an isolated vagrant.
