Description:

A brown patch on the top part of the wings is an identifying feature of males. For females, viewing the top of the pronotum is required to distinguish from Greater Anglewing (B. Woo, pers. comm.).

A female nymph Lesser Anglewing in Prince George's Co., Maryland (8/5/2012). This species has what many of us consider the most familiar "katy-did" call.
