Common in salt and brackish marshes.

Description:

Note the opposite leaves and flowering structure which separates Marsh Elder from the similar Eastern Baccharis.

Where to find:

Any salt or brackish marsh should hold populations of Marsh Elder.

Relationships:

Marsh Elder is the host plant for the leaf beetle Ophraella notulata.
