Status:

Emerald Spreadwing (Lestes dryas) is a northern species, known historically from Baltimore County. There are no recent records, and it is currently considered to be extirpated from Maryland. It prefers shallow, vegetated ponds and lakes, including ephemeral ponds, but usually fishless (Paulson, 2011).
