Status:

Ceraturgus fasciatus is a member of a distinctive genus of robber flies, generally rather uncommon. This species is probably the most widespread and common Ceraturgus in the northeast. C. fasciatus is characterized by Bromley (1946) as a species of oak and mixed mesophytic forest, often occurring on shrubs or near edge habitats (cited in Barnes 2008). It apparently preys heavily on Coleoptera.
