Maryland finally landed its overdue first record of Black-chinned Hummingbird in January 2020. The species had been voted our #1 most expected new state bird for many years. It was banded by Bruce Peterjohn on 1/24/2020 and identified as an immature male Black-chinned (St. Mary's Co.).
