Description:

Fruiting body: Yellow-orange to yellow, dry, almost smooth; convex to nearly flat; margin often lighter, inrolled when young, uplifed and wavy, crimped, and lobed in age. May have apricot odor. Fertile surface: Pale yellow to yellow-orange; decurrent shallow wrinkles or smooth, crossveins (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Where to find:

Scattered/groups on ground in hardwood (especially oak) or mixed forests.
