Atlantic Brief Squid Lolliguncula brevis (Blainville, 1823)  

Status:

The Atlantic Brief Squid is the only cephalopod found in the Chesapeake Bay. It is found throughout the lower Chesapeake Bay (Chesapeake Bay Program). Maryland is near the northern end of the species' range.

Relationships:

Preys upon bottom-dwelling crustaceans, small fish, and fish larvae (Chesapeake Bay Program).
