Status:

The holotype was collected by H. E. Ewing at Takoma Park, Montgomery County, Maryland on February 14, 1921. That slide is deposited in the Proturan collections at the NMNH. (L. Biechele, pers. comm.)

Description:

"Characteristic of all the Eosentomon are the three pairs of abdominal appendages. E. vermiforme is distinguished by its slender shape and head, which is twice as long as wide, and protruding mouthparts. Additionally, the T1 sensillum is near the same level as the alpha 3’ seta of the foretarsus (Bernard, pers. comm.)." (L. Biechele, pers. comm.)
