This tiny species is easily overlooked, but is widespread in the Americas, Europe, and Africa. It is found in clusters on rotting wood in late summer and fall.
Fruiting body: Lemon-yellow to golden; tiny (to 1/8" -3 mm); smooth; saucer-shaped from above, like a nail-head in side view. Stalk: Rudimentary, tiny, white to none (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Generally dense clusters on debarked, decaying hardwoods.
